The Christian world view
recognizes the Divine existence and eminence in cosmic and
human affairs. The reconciliation of Judaism and
Christianity is a simple matter, and the correct recognition of
who "Israel" is in the physical and the metaphysical
realms (as revealed by God) eliminates confusion.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When I refer to
"Judaism" I am NOT referring to
Talmud-based Judaism!!!

Eccl 10:2
-- The heart of the
wise inclines to the right, but
the heart of the fool to the left.
Left vs.
Right
This
originates in
Matthew 25:33 and
actually is the basis for what has evolved into our
political parties of the 21st Century.
In
Renaissance France, the "progressives" of that time
de-christianized France
and went so far as to
reject faith in God and
intentionally chose the "left" side of the
government chamber where legislation was determined,
doing so as a statement of rejecting Christian faith.
Since
that time, the "left" and "right" designations have
evolved, but the foundation of a matter
is important. The
Renaissance -- the supposed "Great
Enlightenment" -- was a work of Satan, for
in his once being the
light-bearer or morning star of
God (Lucifer), he now "enlightened" mankind
to reject God. And what followed? Atheistic science
and the lie of evolution, along with a degradation of
humanity, and demoralization of art and music.
So when
someone chooses the "left" position on a matter of
discussion (such as with the political parties of our
nation), one is choosing intentionally, though perhaps
in ignorance of the full reality of the choice. And
when one looks at the platforms of this distinction,
one can easily see where the larger view of the "left"
continues to reject God and the larger view of the
"right" continues to embrace God.
Being
imperfect, we all fail in honoring God's Law and
sometimes find ourselves on the "left" or "right" of
specific topics, but an intellectually honest
evaluation of such broad platforms clearly shows the
distinction between "left" and "right", between
"goats" and "sheep", between those who seek God's
design in our world and those who do not.
Are
there honest believers who love God on the "left"?
Sure, but one must wonder, Why? Because Satan
deceives the whole world!
Remember that he is a master of
disguise. |

The reality of this universe is
that
God clearly exists, that
He
created us upright and by our own choices
we have deviated from His intent. Furthermore,
His Law has been revealed to us
and is
unchanging (Matthew
5:17-20 and
Hebrews 13:8), but
we have sinned and require
grace to avoid doom. Moreover,
the Law cannot save us but
because of grace,
God did for us in His Son what the Law
could not do. God's grace to us is found only in
the completed work of Jesus at the Cross
because the
wages of our sin demand our death.
Therefore,
our justification now comes only by faith
and because of our faith,
we uphold God's Law
without fear for our failures.

What is our responsibility? |
|
Not many
of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you
know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.
James 3:1
Do your
best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who
does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word
of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15
Other translations use the
phrase "rightly divide the word of truth". What does it mean to
rightly handle or divide the word of truth?
Jesus said:
Do not
think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I
have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I
tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest
letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means
disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.
Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these
commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least
in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches
these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that
of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will
certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:17-20
The Bereans were considered most
noble for it is said about them:
Now the
Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in
Thessalonica, for they received the message with great
eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what
Paul said was true. Acts 17:11
Even the Apostle Paul says "What
does scripture say?" in Romans 4:3. To what "scripture"
does he refer? To what "scripture"
does Jesus refer? What "scripture"
did the Bereans search?
The Law and the Prophets.
The Law of God has been mischaracterized in our present day as
something that "no longer applies". Herein, a lie of Satan has
infiltrated the body of Christ, resulting in choices and actions
that are sin.
Why? Because Satan wants us to sin. He wants us to
ignore God's Law for he hates God's Law.
Why? Because
the law is good, right, and holy --
Romans 7:12. It is a serious error to claim the Law of God does
not matter any longer. Even Jesus taught that it is a perversion
of the Divine Perspective to pick and choose which of God's Law
applies to us (Matthew
5:17-20).

But supposing we could do
exactly that, how would we determine which Law applied and which
Law did not?
(I am using a human
example, for there is no way a human being can determine which
of God's Laws
no longer matter to God!)
In our day
(the early 21st Century), tattoos have become the fad of the day
(and tomorrow's regret). Some teach that tattooing the body is
okay now because we are not under law.
Yet those same advocates
for tattoos would never approve of prostituting one's daughter,
even though it is in the same scripture of God's law as God's
prohibition of tattoos (Leviticus
19:26-30).
If someone says, "Well, I don't
think that applies..." or "Well, my argument with that scripture
is..." then take a moment and think about the words that person
has spoken. It is clear, is it not? If we "don't think..." or if
we have an "argument with that scripture..." then there is a
problem on our end. And if we don't understand
something, then we should study, pray, and seek the Holy
Spirit's guidance as to how we can conform to the Divine
Perspective of the matter for the Holy Spirit will guide you
into all truth (John
16:13).
The Conclusion: We cannot pick
and choose which Law we can require versus which Law we can
ignore. Here is the whole truth of the matter--
-
God's Law is Supreme--PERIOD!
-
We have sinned for we have
broken God's Law innumerable times
-
We cannot redeem ourselves
-
He has redeemed us by putting
on His Son the punishment we rightly deserve
-
Therefore,
we now belong
to God and so
we keep God's Law (Romans 3:31)!
We are instructed to rightly
handle or divide the word of truth. This is the truth. We can
rejoice for our failures are forgiven, yet we ever strive to
keep God's Law.
Where we fail, we do NOT
claim that we have not sinned, nor since we are not under law it was not sin. No, rather
we confess it as sin (which is breaking the Law of God), repent,
and try not to repeat our error. Beyond that we
certainly don't
teach others to break God's Law.
Remember:
Those who teach will be judged more
strictly.
Where we lack understanding
(i.e. a lack of knowledge, history, perspective, purpose, etc.), we
study, pray, and
seek wisdom from the Lord... all the while
rejoicing fully persuaded that our undeserved salvation has been
forever secured by
Jesus the Messiah, all the while basking in the knowledge that
we are not our own, but instead we belong to God and
thus we do
everything we can to
abide by God's Law and
teach others to do
the same.
How magnificent a salvation!
Oh, how
I love your law!
I meditate on it all day long.
Psalm 119:97
Draw near to God
and He will draw near to you.
James 4:8
For the message of the cross is
foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are
being saved, it is the power of God! For the foolishness of
God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is
stronger than man's strength! 1
Cor 1:25
To the world, we are fools. Just
look around at the massive deceptions that surround us. Climate
change (a false earth worship), evolution (a denial of God's
existence), communism/social-democrat-ism (a flawed human-based
value system), vegan/vegetarianism (a flawed health system),
animal rights (a reversal of
God's design), overpopulation
(a false degradation of human life), save the whales (while
killing children in the womb), et cetera ad infinitum ad
nauseum...
All of these are frauds...
distractions designed by the
Father of Lies to occupy our thoughts and distract us from
the true purpose of God. The wisdom of God is viewed as
foolishness to them. They worship created things rather than the
Creator. Thinking themselves wise, they have become fools. (Romans
1:21-23) |

Use of a Creed
Throughout the ages,
the basic doctrines of faith have been codified in a
formal creed recited in worship assemblies. One of
the earliest of written creeds is below. Since
copies of scripture were not widely available,
creeds and catechisms were used to teach matters of
faith to believers and as instruments of worship and
professions of faith. At the time the Apostles'
Creed was written, the word "catholic" was not
referring to a particular branch of Christianity,
rather it referred to the full body of believers
world-wide. The word "catholic" actually means
"universal" and did not become associated with the
Roman Church until many centuries had passed and
divisions of practice began to distinguish branches
of Christianity.
There is nothing wrong with a creed, per se. The
purpose of the creed is to codify the key elements
of Christian faith in a single statement that gives
honor to the Lord. Reminding ourselves of these key
elements is important for refocusing our minds from
the demands of life toward the tenets of faith. Read
the words carefully, and consider that for over
1,500 years, this statement has been repeated aloud,
daily, somewhere on the face of the earth.
The
Apostles' Creed
I believe in
God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and
earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our
Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy
Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered
under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and
was buried. He descended to the dead. On the
third day he rose again. He ascended into
heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the
Father. He will come again to judge the living
and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic
Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness
of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the
life everlasting. Amen. |
