Theme Week 19 = Oliva
After a long 'theme' week (about 10 days) for Rocky Patel, I began
another long 'theme' for Oliva. Thus between RP and Oliva, these
two 'themes' are taking about 3 weeks total.
My selection of Oliva products includes a wide variety of various
labeled cigars. (NOTE: I am not including any cigars rolled by
Oliva for someone else's labels in this 'theme' week.)
My favorite
among the Oliva-branded products are the various iterations of the
Serie V. I have ensured for more than 15 years that my humidor
contains a good number of Serie V products for occasional
enjoyment, and that practice will continue long into the future.
As I noted in my previous 'theme' week, while some of my Oliva
cigars are less than 5 years old, the majority of my Serie V
cigars and all of my Nubs, are more than 10 to 15 years old, and
should make this 'theme' week quite enjoyable. Of course, the
Serie V 135 cigars are recent.

History
I have found the Oliva story to be very interesting, as the family
has recently sold it's company to J. Cortès Cigars N.V., a
family-owned Belgian company run by Fred Vandermarliere.
This
ownership change has not only maintained the integrity and flavor
profiles of the company's best cigars, but is bringing an
expansion of the Oliva branded business. You can read the full
