Theme Week 17 =
Rocky Patel (1.5 weeks)
Due to a rather wide range of Rocky Patel products in my humidors,
this 'theme' week will likely take about 2 weeks, thus I am
starting it early.
Rocky Patel cigars have such a good rating for so many labels, and
enjoying a few cigars from the various labels will easily provide
amazing flavor profiles for at least the next 1 - 2 weeks.
History
The history of Rocky Patel cigars can be traced back to the early
1990s, when Rocky Patel was introduced to cigars by a friend and
became a founding member of the Grand Havana Club in Los Angeles.
In 1996, Patel helped finance a cigar startup called Indian Tabac
Cigar Co., which sold contract brands.
By 1998, Patel took over
the company and began working to establish control of the
manufacturing process.
In 2002, Patel changed the company name to
Rocky Patel Premium Cigars.
In 2005, Patel opened his own
facility, Tabacalera Villa Cuba S.A., or TaviCusa, in Estelí,
Nicaragua.
In 2015, Patel discontinued the Indian Tabac brand,
which had been a learning curve for him and the building blocks
for Rocky Patel cigars as they are known today.
Rocky Patel's
cigar brands include: Rocky Patel Vintage, The Edge, Decade,
Fifteenth Anniversary, and Royale. Rocky Patel's company sells
nearly 30 million cigars a year, most in the United States, but
also in some 90 countries.
