Race Relations,
Slavery, and Noah's Curse
This
essay will be organized according
to the following outline:

Where the Races Originate
Genesis 10 gives us what is
commonly called the table of nations. From there, we can see
that the nations of the earth spread out after the global deluge
from the Middle East, and did so in primary directions depending
on which son of Noah we consider.
Additionally, genetic traits of
the three sons of Noah became more pronounced over the centuries
as men took their sisters and cousins for wives as they spread
out to distant areas, thus the lighter skin traits moved
north/northeast with more genetic variation occurring as
subsequent generations ventured off on their own with their
siblings and cousins as mates.
The
Lineage of Japheth
The family of Japheth primarily spread out to the North, Far
East, and across the ice to the Americas.
The Japheth lighter skin tone
line developed lighter irises and hair colors in the North,
different eye features to the Far East, and different tones
throughout the Americas.
The
Lineage of Shem
The descendants of Shem settled primarily in the Middle East,
and near-Far East (between the Mediterranean Sea and India,
including Arabia and Persia).
The Semite medium skin tone and
features have remained consistent throughout history due to the
relative closeness of the dispersion of the progeny of Shem.
The
Lineage of Ham
The children of Ham migrated primarily to the continent of
Africa with some presence in the Middle East.
The darker skin tone of Ham
became more pronounced as the subsequent generations ventured
off on their own with their siblings and cousins as mates, thus
in certain parts of the continent, medium-dark skin tone is
normal versus darker skin tones in more distant areas.
What is
the point of this?
The point is that we are all, regardless of genetic propensity,
related to each other. We are all the descendents of Noah.
Noah's
Curse
After the global deluge, there was an incident where Ham
ridiculed Noah's nakedness and Noah pronounce a curse on one of
Ham's sons.
